Project Overview
The Project: A collection of online course components made using digital storytelling software Sutori, that engaged learners through interactivity, media integrations, and learner-focused instructional design.
My Role: I trained graduate assistants and developed a senior level course, MAE 4310: Culturally Responsive Mathematics & Technology, that enhanced preservice teachers' learning engagement and pedagogy.
The Client: University of Florida College of Education: Department of Math Education
My Focus: Digital Storytelling to Engage Online Learners
Teachers are ill prepared to enter the workforce due to ineffective training and decreased online learner engagement. Undergraduate retention rates continue to fall due to poor online learning practices.
Train teachers in technology usage with active and digital storytelling. I made engaging online content to supplement brick and mortar education and provide tools to meet student needs in the modern society.
An interactable social media-like experience that received positive feedback from professors and students. I created a lasting college course that engaged preservice teachers and provided a design foundation, showcased by my research.
